Mayakovsky, VL. Terrible laughter. ROST Windows. Registration Of Varvara Stepanova.
M. - L., State publishing house of artistic literature. 1932 Edition of 3000 copies. 80 p., Fig. In publishing cardboard, size 21 x 24.5 cm. Restoration of book covers, flyleaf, flyleaf and page 1. Good condition, without dust jacket.

This edition includes poems and drawings for posters created by Mayakovsky while working on the Windows of ROST.

Windows of ROST satire — a series of posters developed in 1919-1921 by Soviet poets and artists who worked in the system of the Russian Telegraph Agency. This specific form of mass agitation art emerged during the Civil war and the intervention of 1918-1920. Satirical posters, made in a sharp and accessible manner, provided with concise poetic texts that exposed the opponents of the young Republic of Soviets, were displayed in the Windows of the Telegraph Agency.

The collection of poems Mayakovsky considered "a Protocol record of the most difficult three years of the revolutionary struggle, transmitted by spots of paint and the ringing of slogans", his part of a huge agit work.

A collection of poems "the terrible laughter. Windows of ROST" was handed over by Mayakovsky to the state Duma on December 16, 1929, along with the 8th volume of the lifetime Collection of works, but it was published only in 1932, after the death of the poet.
