ENCLOSED ARE THE OFTEN MISSING ORIGINAL APPLICATIONS! This excellent book was written by Guenter Elsner, an official in Hermann Görings Air State Ministry and Karl Gustav Lerche, Oberbannführer in the Reichs Youth Leadership.The 6 x 8-1/2 inches hardcover book with 240 heavily illustrated pages plus 4 enclosed application forms (which are in most cases missing!) is in very good condition. It was printed 1940 by the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachf. in Munich and is in near mint condition. The intention of this book was to recruit HJ boys for the service in the Luftwaffe (AirForce). It shows all the different career paths in the Luftwaffe, gives very detailed job descriptions on the duties of flying and ground per-sonnel plus it contains a lot of information on different aircraft models, etc.! The National Socialists found a great way how to find the most suitable Hitler Youth candidates for the Luftwaffe in nationwide competitions on making and flying air craft models. To get even better results the school laws were changed and the making of aircraft models became priority in handicraft classes in public schools throughout the nation. This is also described in de-tail in this wonderful book which has lots of photos and illustra-tions. Stored in a pocket in the back cover are four original forms which the Hitler Youth boy could fill out and send directly to the authorities to apply either to volunteer for the service in the Luft-waffe, to enroll in special LW Colleges to study aviation or to be-come a Luftwaffe engineer!
