Eyelet Ahavim on Tractate Ketubot, by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ben Moshe Zunz of Platzk - First Edition - Warsaw 1887 - the copy of Rabbi Eliezer Silver. On the protective leaf and on other page are two stamps of his ownership.
The Genius Rabbi Eliezer Silver [1881-1968] Born in Lithuania, one of the first disciples of the kibutz of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Gruzhinski of Vilna, a disciple of the geniuses Rabbi David Karliner and Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. In 1907, he emigrated to the United States and served as president of the United States and Canada Rabbis Association and one of America's leading rabbis. During World War II, he engaged in rescue operations. Held various rabbinical positions in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Ohio.
