Zohar Livorno - Glosses of Rabbi Moshe Azulai, grandson of Maran Hachid'a
Zohar on Bereshit Livorno, 1791 - Glosses in the handwriting of Rabbi Moshe Azulai, grandson of Maran HaChida'a, signed "מאי"ן" - "Moshe Azulai Yair Nero".
Glosses signed "מאי"ן". The glosses that are not signed in the book are of Rabbi Moshe Azulai.
The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Azulai of Ancona, [1787-1853], author of the books "Zichron Moshe", son of Rabbi Raphael Yeshaya (1843-1826) son of the Chida'a and the Rabbi of Ancona. Even before his birth, his grandfather Chida'a announced that a son would be born and his name will be Moshe, who is the seventh generation of Rabbi Avraham Azulai (owner of "Chesed La Avraham"), like as Moshe Rabbeinu was the seventh generation of Avraham-Avinu. [This grandson was very much loved by the Chida'a, who calls him in his letters "משה חריף ה"י", "משה שפיר ה"י"]. He was accustomed to sign "Ma'in" as the signature the Hida'a which he sometimes signed with his glosses "מאי"ן".
