Lengthy Historical Letter Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Nachum Weidenfeld the Chazon Nachum of Dambrava to the Chief Rabbi the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog. About Setting a Day of Fast due to the Events. [1938]. 


In the letter, the Gaon the Chazon Nachum writes to the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Halevi Shalita the Chief Rabbi of Palestine that he agrees with Rav Herzog about setting a day of public fast and Selichot due to the violent incidents that occurred those days in the Holy Land and he trusts that Rav Herzog has certainly consulted with the union of rabbis in Warsaw or other Gedolei HaDor "to set the fast on the first day of Selichot and may G-d have mercy on the remnants of his people and it is a time of trouble to Yaakov but he shall be saved from it for eternal salvations..."


The great Gaon Rabbi Nachum Weidenfeld [1875-1940] the son of the Koachav yaakov.  Gedol and Posek HaDor. The Rav of Dambrava for more that forty years. Was a Dayan and responded on Halacha to all over the world. His younger brother who was educated by him was the Gaon of Tshebin Rabbi Dov Berish Weidenfeld.
