African Tribal Art: Mossi People, Burkina Faso: Helmet Mask with Warthog, 19th Century. Extremely worn, patinated surface, incised with geometric designs, showing traces of pigments. An old rope is laced through the masks lower-rim attachment holes.
DIMENSIONS: Approx. 20" x 7" x 7"
PROVENANCE: Private collection.
CONDITION: Fair. aged condition with evidence of handling and use, including abrasions, pigment loss and a minor wood loss on the lower rim
