Rare. Dos Gezang fun Hiawatha, Yiddish Translation by BenTziyon Raskin, Kiev, 1918-9.

Yiddish translation of The Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Translated from English by author and translator BenTziyon Raskin. Published in Kiev by Kiever Forlog.

Ben Tziyon Raskin was a Hebrew and Yiddish author and translator, who also used the pen name "Uncle Ben Tziyon." He was a teacher and revolutionary activist in the Poalei Tziyon movement. He passed away prematurely at the age of 40, drowning off the Tel Aviv beach in 1930.

Rare, not found in the National Library and to the best of our knowledge, it has never been sold at auction. There is a single copy in the library at the Yivo Institute for Jewish Research in New York.

100 pp, 23 cm.

Moderate-fine condition, many tears in the margins, divided into booklets.
