Large Early Ethiopian Coptic Christian Biblical Scroll on Parchment | Beautifully written on vellum and decorated with winged figures | The scroll is written in Ethiopian Geez or Classical Ethiopic, an ancient South Semitic language of the Ethio-Semitic branch language believed to have been used as early as the 5th Century AD. "Bible translations into Geʽez, an ancient South Semitic language of the Ethiopian branch, date back to the 6th century at least, making them one of the world's oldest Bible translations." These hand crafted scrolls were used in Coptic Christian ceremonies, and often carried by an individual for protection and healing. This particular relic is believed to be a scriptural scroll from Circa. 15th Century or earlier | Approx.
