Greeting letter for the New Year with many blessings by the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Sholem Sofer Av Beis Din of Pest, the son of the Holy Gaon author of Machaneh Chaim, to his nephew the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer Av Beis Din of Paks. Hungary, unknown year. 


The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Sholem Sofer (1855-1921) one of the greatest rabbis of Hungary, the son of the Holy Gaon author of Machaneh Chaim. Studied Torah with Gedolei Hador the Mahram Shick and Moron the Ketav Sofer. For almost thirty years served as Rosh Av Beis Din of Pest. Authored the book Torat Chaim on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim. 


His nephew, the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer Av Beis Din of Paks and Deretshke (passed away in 1918). The son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Zussman Sofer, one of the greatesr rabbis of Hungary. Studied Torah with his rabbi author of the Shevet Sofer. Authored the Sefarim Yalkut Sofer and Likutei Sofer.
