Eight Books Illustrated by Ze'ev Raban – "Chageinu", "Palestine, 10 Pictures", "The Scroll of Ruth" and More
Eaight books illustrated by Ze'ev Raban:
1. Chageinu [Our Holidays]. New-York: Miller-Lynn, 1928.
[16] ff., 20.5 cm. Good condition. Minor stains to leaves. Loose leaves. Bookplate and owner's stamp. Stains and tears to binding.
2. Aleph. Illustrated by Meir Gur-Aryeh and Ze'ev Raban. Tel-Aviv: Dvir, 1930.
[1], 63, [2] pp. 17.5X25 cm. Good condition. Stains. Minor creases. Worming. Inked stamp. Tears to cover. Cover restored. A strip of tape along the spine.
3. Palestine, 10 Pictures by Zeev Raban. Jerusalem: Bney-Bezalel Editions, 1931.
[10] plates, placed in a portfolio, 32.5 cm. Good condition. Stains to tissue guards. Enclosed are two extra plates, Hebron and Safed. Minor blemishes to portfolio.
4. Palestine, 10 Pictures by Ze'ev Raban (Hebrew edition). Tel-Aviv: Sinai, [ca. 1940].
[12] ff., 17.5X25 cm. Leather-covered binding, set with a relief of the Tower of David. Good condition. Minor blemishes to leaves. Blemishes and tears to binding. Dedication on endpaper.
5. The Scroll of Ruth. Jerusalem: "Shulamit", [1950s].
[11] ff., 32.5 cm. Good condition. The endpapers were glued to first and last leaf. Minor blemishes and stains to cover.
6. Leilot Yerushalaim [Jerusalem Night]. Jerusalem: Sinai, 1956.
68 pp. 19 cm. Stains, mainly to binding and first pages. Placed in an original case, damaged and torn, mended with tape.
7. The Book of Job, Hebrew and English, Revised by M. Friedlander, with 12 Coloured Pictures by Zeev Raban, "Bezalel" Jerusalem. Tel-Aviv: Sinai, 1967.
[3] ff., [53] pp. + [12] plates, 23.5 cm. Good condition.
8. Had Gadya. Tel-Aviv: Sinai, [ca. 2000].
Pointillist black-and-white illustrations by Raban, after the illustrations in the book "Had Gadya" published by Bney Bezalel, 1926. On the last leaf it is noted that the black-and-white illustrations of the Haggadah were made by Raban in 1938.
