Shev Yaakov book of responsa. Unique copy with ownership stamps of several Torah giants from the prestigious family of Rabbi Akiva Eger and the Chatam Sofer.
The Gaon Rabbi Simcha Bunim Güns-Eger (1770-1829), the Av Beit Din in Matersdorf and the younger brother and fellow Torah scholar of the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eger, was already ordained as a rabbi at the age of 13! One of the great geniuses of his generation, he served as the Rabbi of Rogozin (Poznan District), addition in 1810 succeeded the Chatam Sofer as the rabbi of Mattersdorf. Many of the Chatam Sofer’s responsa were written to him, including with words of praise, calling him a “light to the Jewish People and the pillar of my right hand.”
Rabbi Simcha’s son, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Güns-Schlesinger (d. 1857), a student and uncle of Rabbi Akiva Eger, and one of the rabbis of Wilczyn (near Poznan). He assisted in the preparation for publication of many of his uncles teachings, as mentioned in the performance to Drosh v’Chidush, and was mention dozens of times in the writings of Rabbi Akiva Eger and the Chatam Sofer.
The Gaon Rabbi David Zvi Ehrenfeld (d. 1862) was an outstanding student and favorite son-in-law of the Chatam Sofer. A Torah giant in his own right, he lived near his father-in-law in Pressburg.
The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Zvi Hirsch Manheimer (b. 1814), was considered one of the top students of the Chatam Sofer.
