Printed card with the portrait of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Ashkenazi, the Chacham Tzvi (1660-1718), one of the most prominent rabbis in the turn of the 17th century. served as the rabbi of the Jewish community in Amsterdam, as well as the rabbi of many other Ashkenazi communities across Europe. Author of Responsa Chacham Tzvi, and a resolute opponent of the followers of the false messiah, Sabbatai Zevi. The portrait was made after an etching printed in Amsterdam during his lifetime. Apparently, circa the early 20th century. Approximately 14X10 cm. Good condition, wear.
