The cover of the issue of June 4, 1932, depicts a French military leader, general Maxim Weygand. The issue contains articles on military subjects with photos and maps, an article about General Weygand, a review of sculptures at the Salon de Paris and other articles on culture, sports, travel, social life, politics and diplomacy. There are black and white, and colour advertisements at the beginning and end of the issue. 

L'Illustration, the first French illustrated newspaper, which was published from 1843 to 1944. In 1906 L'Illustration became the first illustrated magazine in the world and was distributed in more than 150 countries.

This legendary weekly magazine reported what was happening in the world for more than a century and made the history of the French and international press.
