SOVIET NOTICE OF DEMOBILIZATION
Unusual large document, a notice of demobilization after the victory over Nazi Germany in WWII, dated 1946. It was meant for a Soviet soldier but remained unissued. In part: 'By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR, you will be demobilized from the ranks of the Soviet Army...now the homeland expects honest and noble work from you...Great are the tasks of the new five-year plan...the only way to secure the victory won on the battlefields is to work tirelessly on the restoration and further development of our national economy...' The notice features a portrait of Comrade Stalin at the top of the page. Mailing folds, minor staining on the edges. 11.5 x 15.5 inches, very good.
