Kuntres Perush HaMilot (by the Mitteler Rebbe of Lubavitch) - First Edition - Warsaw, 1867 - Wide Margins
Kuntres Perush HaMilot, called Mahadura Batra - commentary and expansion of the siddur of the Baal HaTanya, by his son Rebbe Dov Ber, the Mitteler Rebbe of Lubavitch. Warsaw, 1867. First edition.
Two title pages, first one concise and second one more detailed. Wide-margined copy.
In 1816, the Mitteler Rebbe printed in Kopust a year-round siddur, with kabbalistic and Chassidic explanations of the words of the prayers, which he heard from his father the Baal HaTanya on Friday nights and which he later recorded. The explanations of the Baal HaTanya were said in a relatively brief manner and did not cover the entire siddur, only large sections therein. In this book, termed Mahadura Batra, the Mitteler rebbe expands upon explanations printed briefly in the Kopust siddur, and adds explanations to sections of the prayers not covered by his father.
[2], 114 leaves. 29.5 cm. Wide margins. Good-fair condition. Many stains. Minor worming. Inner margin of title page reinforced with paper. Stamps and handwritten inscriptions. Handwritten glosses (partly in pencil). Rubbing and minor damage to binding.
Stefansky Chassidut, no. 474.
