Title page and endpaper page (Vorsatz) includes many signatures of previous owners. One of these signatures is of Rabbi Yaakov Reischer, author of the books 'Shvut Yaakov' and 'Iyun Yaakov'. Rabbi Reischer was born in Bechhofen, 1661 and passed away in 1733 in Prague, His father was the famed author of Sefer Elya Rabba, and served as Rabbi of Metz until his passing.
Within the book is written testimony that this volume also belonged to his grandson R. Nehemiah Av Beit Din of Lorraine, whose signature (from his youth) also appears here.

Ha-Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Reisher (Reisha), author of "Shvut Yaakov" (1661-1733), one of the greatest Torah scholars in Europe in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Student of Rabbi Aharon Shimon Shapira, Av Beit Din of Prague. He served as Rosh Yeshiva and Av Beit Din in Prague, Ansbach, Worms, and Metz. His only son, Rabbi Shimon, died during his lifetime, and his grandson, Rabbi Nechmiah Reisher, was like a beloved son. The grandfather, the author of the "Shvut Yaakov", trusted him and gave him his manuscripts, leaving it in his hands to decide on their future. Rabbi Nehemiah was initially appointed a member of his grandfather's Beit Din in the city of Metz, and from the year 1737 also served as the first rabbi of the Duchy of Lorraine.
