Manuscript of the Tzahir of Pesach, with illustration. North Africa 1899.
Manuscript in Western block print, with ornamented, illustrated title pages. Additional title page for the zmirot of Pesach and a title page for the Tzahir of the 7th day of Pesach outside of Israel. 31 leaves. Incomplete manuscript.
The colophon has written in Sefardi handwriting: “May it be that the completion of the manuscript was on Wednesday of [?] of Adar”. Notes of ownership: p. 2: “Yaakov Veil.” p. 8: “I Avraham ben Yaakov han Samon”.
11x17.5cm. Brittle paper, tears, stains, and tape. Bound with the book Schiyot HaChemda, tikkunim for Nissan and Pesach based on the work Chemdat Yamim, and additional laws collected from works by HaHida, and the Pesach Haggadah with the commentary of the Abudraham and more .Livorno 1855. 60 leaves. Missing the 4th leaf. Wine stains, many signs of use, other stains, overall good condition.
The title page has a note of ownership: “Maimon Alkavitz”. The 7th leaf has a note handwritten in the margins, the wording of Birkat HaIlanot.
