A MONUMENTAL AND VERY RARE ICON SHOWING THE RIMSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD FROM A CHURCH ICONOSTASIS Russian, 19th century Tempera on wood panel. The haloes made of gold. Inscribed in Cyrillic on the lower border. Two selected saints on the borders: Sts. Basil the Great and Anna. Traces of a signature and date lower right (removed). Vertical cracks restored. 142.5 x 84.5 cm.
