AN ICON SHOWING THE PROPHET ELIJAH WITH A SILVER OKLAD Greek, 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Semen Galkin, 1908-1917 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. Overlaid with a chased and embossed silver oklad. Marked with assayer’s mark, 84 standard and master’s mark ‘SG’ in Cyrillic. On the reverse Cyrillic dedication inscription. Minor losses. 31 x 22.1 cm (icon) / 31.5 x 27.5 cm (oklad).
