Large-sized noisemaker. Beginning of the 20th century.
Large-sized wood noisemaker, constructed from a box that rests on a base that features the double noise-making mechanism that issued noise from both sides of the noisemaker. The mechanism works with a crank at the front of the box that turns a corresponding crank on the opposite side of the box. One of the cranks is in working order, the other is broken. This type of noisemaker was used to make loud noises during municipal parades or demonstrations in a number of European cities.
