* Beit Yehuda by Rabbi Yehuda Iyash, Leghorn, 1746. First edition.
Responses on four sections of the Shulchan Aruch by the Rabbi of Algeria. Includes the "Dinei Minhagei Argil" - early Algerian customs. This is the first time these customs were recorded in print. Includes a poem that the author wrote in honor of his teacher [Rabbi Shlomo Yedidya Tzror], who reportedly helped create peace and harmony between the author's parents, paving the way for his birth.
The author [1700-1760] was the famed rabbi of Algeria and was known as a holy man. He gave an approbation to Rabbi Chaim ben Atar's, Ohr HaChaim, and, after immigrating to Jerusalem, headed the Yeshivat Knesset Yisrael beit medrash established by the Ohr HaChaim. [2], 136, 114 leaves. 30 cm.
