Первое издание. Воспоминания выдающегося русского философа Николая Сергеевича Арсеньева (1888-1977). Книга составлена из очерков, написанных Арсеньевым в разное время. Часть из них он начал писать с 1942 г. – в тяжелое военное время и под впечатлением нахлынувших воспоминаний юности и детства, другие – в 1960-х и начале 1970-х гг. Это книга о тех дарах жизни, которые связаны с общением с дорогими автору людьми, а также о прикосновении к ряду идейных течений и духовных движений времени. Это прикосновение в памяти к дорогому и неповторимому, с чем приходилось встречаться в жизни. Первая часть очерков связана биографической нитью, вторая содержит статьи, посвященные русским мыслителям и поэтам, влиянию которых он особенно много обязан: А.С. Хомякову, В.А. Кожевникову, И.В. Киреевскому, князю С.Н. Трубецкому, С.Л. Франку, также русской духовной и культурной традиции. Н.С. Арсеньева никогда не оставляла надежда, что его книги придут в Россию и станут доступными не только профессиональным кругам русской интеллигенции, но и широкому кругу российских читателей.
