A large collection of vintage American sepia and black and white photographs. The collection includes female professional models portraits, fashion and studio photos for portfolios and American beauty pageants; the photos of famous beauty queens, Charlotte Rose and Mary Jo Matthews (1909-1988). One photo is signed and marked A. Werner Photographic Art Studio NY on the back. Several photos are signed and marked, Tiffany Studio, Courtesy of Credit will be Appreciated by James Kollar Studios NY. The photo of Mary Jo Matthews depicts her smashing a mirror for good luck; the photo is signed and marked, Photo by Clarence Sinclair Bull, and a paper label showing detailed information on the back. Mary Jo Matthews was a beauty queen of the University of West Virginia for three successive years chosen, and an actress known for After Eight Hours (1935), Gypsy Night (1935), and Dancing on the Ceiling (1937).
