WWI LEND THE WAY THEY ORIGINAL POST CARD BY ASHE

An original iconic World War I bond drive lithographic post card entitled, Lend The Way They Fight Buy Bonds to Your Utmost, and designed by Edmund Marion Ashe in 1918. The post card depicts an American soldier holding a hand grenade over German soldiers in a trench. Inscribed in the print, With Unflinching Courage With Sacrifice, With Persistency, With Resource Fullness and Power, With Their Whole Hearts That is The Way They Fight upper left. The image promoted the 3rd Liberty Bond Campaign. Chips to margin and one horizontal fold. Edmund Marion Ashe (1867-1941) was an American artist. He studied at The Art Student's League in New York. He was most known for his varying styles of art, which included faithful representations of factories, posters of World War I bond drives, and watercolors of the Gibson Girl.
