About the artist:
Marcel Janco, painter, was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1895. He immigrated to Israel in 1941. In Zurich, Hugo Bell, Jean Arp and a narrow Tristan, took part in the establishment of the Dada movement and participated in all its activities (1919-1916). Janco created the famous masks in the African masks, which were used in plays performed at the Tomb of Walter. After a short stay in Paris (1921), he returned to Bucharest, worked in architecture and was active in the circles of modernist Romanian artists. He was among the founders of the New Horizons group (1948) and initiated the establishment of the Artists Colony in Ein Hod (1953).
