Translation:
Vineyard Disease: In 1853 a very large part of the European wine harvest was hit by a parasite. None of the known remedies worked and the French wine producers were facing commercial destruction. The French government sent healthy French vines to the United States, where they were assembled on American vines that were resistant to the disease.The new plants, 50% Americans and 50% French were re-exported to France and proved unaffected by the parasite. this means that the french wine we drink today is half American.
