Sefer Ha'Itur, first section. Fourth edition with an addition titled "Sha'ar ha'Chadash". Warsaw, 1888/
On the upper part of the title page, a handwritten Hebrew inscription: "Belongs to Rabbi Yisrael Meir Ha'Cohen". This was the personal copy of the 'Chafetz Chaim', from which he had studied.
This book was given to Rabbi Yerachmiel Gershon Edelstein during World War I. At the time, the Chafetz Chaim moved with the Radin Yehiva to the city of Szumiaczi in the district of Minsk, where they remained for two and a half years. After the Chafetz Chaim left the city, his books were given to Rabbi Edelstein. After Rabbi Edelstein's death, his son Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Edelstein, inherited them. When the family immigrated to the Land of israel in 1934, they brought the Chafetz Chaim's books with them and that is how they had survived.
Enclosed is a confirmation signed by Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya Weiss.
Condition: Very Good. On the last ten leaves, minor moth signs and slight wear. New, impressive decorated leather binding.
