His Biography
Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai, the Chida, (1724 -1806) was a genius, Divine Kabbalist and one of the greatest Poskim of all generations. In his youth, he was the assistant of the holy "Or Ha'Chaim". He was a disciple of the Rashash and the close friend of Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi, the son of the Kabbalist Rabbi Raphael Yitzchak Zerachya Azulai and the great-grandson of the Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azulai author of "Chessed le'Avraham".
His Torah thought and the many books he authored were accepted by Jews all over the world and were greatly admired. He wrote more than 80 compositions in all facets of the Torah including Halcha, Kabbala, Derash, Sod, Talmud, prayers, Segulot and more.
He made tremendous impression wherever he went. He travelled as a Shadar twice in his life, visiting libraries around the world and copying manuscripts by the Rishonim and other novellae he found. These manuscripts are integrated in his writings.
He wrote his first book "Sha'ar Yosef" when he was only 17 years old and the book was enthusiastically approbated by the most prominent rabbis of the generation.

Condition: Good. New leather binding. A slit and a small tear have been restored.
