Secret Letter Describing a Meeting between the Representative of Agudat Yisrael of Jerusalem with the Rebbe, the 'Imrei Emet', about the Dispute with Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook – 1927
A long, very important letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yonatan Binyamin Ha'Levi Ish Horowitz, one of the heads of "Agudat Yisrael" of Jerusalem, to his friends, the members of the Jerusalemite branch of "Agudat Yisrael". At the beginning of the leaf, he wrote "Honorable scholars confidential". Kaczmarek, 1927.
In his letter, he describes in detail his meetings with the Rebbe of Gur, the 'Imrei Emet; and reveals unknown details about the Rebbe's attitude towards the dispute between Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook and his followers and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and his followers. The letter also refers to the Rebbe of Bendin, Rabbi Meir Dan Plotzky, author of the 'Kli Chemdah' and additional rabbis.
At the end of his description, he writes: "I said goodbye to the Rebbe Shalita and the rabbis … and left the room with a mournful heart".
Two leaves written on one of their sides. The first leaf is written on the official stationery of Rabbi Simcha Natan Greenberg Av Beit Din of Kaczmarek.
Condition: Good.
