Chamisha Chumshei Torah (the Pentateuch) with Haftaroth – Amsterdam, 1734 – Pocket Edition with an Ancient Binding and Buckles – First Edition of "Mispar Ha'Taryag Mitzvot" (the Number of the 613 Mitzvot)
The Pentateuch and the five scrolls. Includes the haftaroth with a separate title page. Amsterdam, 1734. Shlomo Proops printing press.
To this edition, several additions were added which were included since them in all subsequent editions of the Pentatuech, as appears on the title page: "… the Qere and Ketiv and the paragraphs and Parashiyot and number of verses appear at its side … and now the 613 Mitzvot are indicated so as to know their source and where they appear".
The Haftaroth have a special title page, restored with omission.
A nice, impressive item!
Condition: Good. Ancient binding with silver-plated, complete buckles. The leaves of the book are in nice condition. The margins of only three leaves have been professionally restored (with slight omission of text.
