A Rare Document Signed by Approximately a Hundred of the Residents of Safed, who Received the Support of Kollel Vizhnitz – 1883
A special, rare document which lists approximately a hundred of the residents of Safed, who receive the monetary support of Kollel Vizhnitz.
At the beginning of the first page, the writers state: "We hereby sign our names … when until now we have merited receiving support by the Kollel … of the Rebbe … Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Vizhnitz, the president … and we bless the Rebbe … that he will live long … Monday the 23rd of Kislev here in the holy city of Safed…"
Then appear the signatures of 99 of the members of the Kollel, among them various well-known Hassisim including Rabbi Meshulam Zussia of Nadvorna (the son of Rabbi Naftali of Lizhensk) (his stamp is shaped as a signature); Rabbi Yechiel of Kitov; Rabbi Yoseg Heisler' Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zablotov and many more.
Three large handwritten pages. 28 cm.
