Two compositions in one volume:
Klil Tiferet Moshe in honor of Sir Moses Montefiore, describing at length Montefiore's sixth journey to the Land of Israel. 26, [5], 2-5, [1] pp. The final six pages of the book are not listed by the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book; it is most likely that in most copies of the book, they were printed at the beginning of the next composition. They contain the poem "Keter Shem Tov", with 33 verses, and at its end, a homily titled 'Keter Shem Tov'. The poem and the homily refer to leading activists and rabbis, among them Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher, Rabbi Menashe Sasson, the barons of the Rothschild family, Rabbi Yeshaya Schor of Mogilev, Rabbi Ya'akov Etlinger and more.
The two pages before these, which contain "poems praising the Rothschilds and in memory of Sir Lionel de Rothschild" are lacking from some of the copies (see the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book).
Ma'aseh Ha'menorah - praise for the Rothschild family for its enterprises in favor of the Jews of Jerusalem. From the book one can learn much about the situation of the Jews of Jerusalem in those days.
The compositions are written in unique language, and contain nice poems and fascinating, important historical information.
The author, Rabbi Yeshayahu Reuven Klinger Av Beit Din of Saveni, Romania. He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1860. He was a prayer leader at the Beit Midrash of Kollel Hod of Jerusalem . In 1874 he was living in Tiberius, serving as a Dayan at the Beit Din of Rabbi Avraham Zvi Ha'levi. He died in 1885 and was buried in Tiberius.
Condition: Good. Typical wear.
