Two English Postcards that were sent from New York to Rechovot via Jaffa, 1915, and from There to Sejera via Nazareth, to the Agronomist Uriya Feldman – Turkish Postmarks – Rare! Important Content
Uriya Feldman was the agronomist of the Jewish settlements during the Ottoman period and one of the first teachers of nature study in the Land of Israel. He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1911 and in 1913 began working as an agronomist of the Neta'im Company, which was a Zionist private company, whose goal was to promote Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel.
The English postcards
A postcards from January 1915. The address was handwritten in black: "Uriya Feldman (agronomist) in Rechovot (Jaffa Post)". The address was erased by a red line and instead it was written: "Sejera via Nazareth". The reason for this was that during the late 1924, Feldman moved from Rechovot to Sejera.
A postcard from a month later. The address on the postcard: "Mr. Uriya Feldman, agronomist, Agudat Neta'im, Sejera (via Tiberius)"
The postcards were sent to Feldman by his brother who lived in New York.
Interesting content.
Condition: Good. One postage stamp was removed from each envelope. Folds. Time stains. Turkish postmarks.
