On graph paper, from 10th of Av 1918, to members of the Sefardi Committee of Jerusalem, on receiving a salary for his work as Shamash of the Kotel. In the letter he details the situation with the Arab neighbors and the significance of his job. | The Meyuchas family served in this position for the Sefardi community from the end of the 19th century. Rabbi Yaakov Meyuchas, the son of Rabbi Efael Meyuchas, was the last member of the family to serve in this position, alongside the First Rabbi of the Kotel, until the fall of the Old City in the War of Independence. | Signs of folding, filing holes.
