Timurid Carnelian Ring
15th-16th century AD
A carnelian finger ring comprising a D-section hoop with knop to the underside, stepped shoulders, octagonal facetted bezel with knop finial. 5.03 grams, 31.34mm overall, 12.97mm internal diameter (approximate size British D, USA 1 3/4, Europe 1.15, Japan 1) (1 1/4"). Very fine condition.
Provenance
From an important North West London collection; acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
