Indus Valley Stamp Seal with Ibex
3rd millennium BC
A bronze stamp seal with tapering ribbed handle to the reverse, shaped as an ibex standing in profile, compartments to the face. 34 grams, 56mm (2 1/4"). Very fine condition.
Provenance
The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; collection nummber ZZ-2, academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
