Gandharan Vessel with Figural Scenes
2nd-4th century AD
A ceramic jug with discoid base, lotus flower pattern to the underside, frieze of pairs of figures on a textured field with piriform panels between, rouletted band to the neck, waisted rim, strap handle to the rear. 834 grams, 18.5cm (7 1/4"). Fine condition, rim chipped.
