Gandharan Figural Frieze Section with Buddha and Attendants
2nd-4th century AD
A carved schist frieze fragment with high-relief seated Buddha on a rectangular dais with flanking attendants offering drinking bowls; Buddha with right hand raised in a gesture of welcome, alms bowl in his left hand; mounted on a custom-made stand. 2 kg, 20cm including stand (8"). Fair condition.

Property of a London collector, acquired early 1990s.
