9th-12th century AD
A flat-section one-piece Baltic comb, both sides cut with very fine teeth, about 10 per cm; to one face a meander of incised tremello-pattern ornament. 31.9 grams, 64mm (2 1/2"). Fine condition.

Property of a Surrey collector; acquired in the early 1970s.
