Viking Horse Bit and Stirrup Set
11th-12th century AD
A mixed group of iron horse furniture comprising: a matched pair of stirrups, each a lozenge-section D-shaped frame with short neck and pierced trapezoidal plaque; the lower edge a slightly arched footrest with reinforcing bar to the underside; a snaffle-bit with straight interlocking shanks, each arm decorated with incised lines and chevrons, the loops D-section with notched edges; professionally cleaned and conserved. 774 grams total, 21-22.5cm (8 1/4 - 8 3/4"). Fine condition. Cleaned and conserved. [3, No Reserve]
