Ostrogothic Pendant with Birds' Heads
5th century AD
A sheet bronze triangular plaque with addorsed bird-heads to the neck, pelleted borders, ribbed loop, four chains supporting a ring, punched horseshoe and pellet detailing, glass insert with three ring-and-dot motifs. 38 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Fine condition.

Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
