Medieval 'CREDE MIChI' Seal Matrix
14th-16th century AD
A bronze chessman seal matrix with a pair of addorsed birds looking over their shoulders at each other within a narrow epigraphic border, the legend reading 'CREDE MIChI' translating to 'believe me', a common inscription on seals, re-assuring the recipient that the message sealed by the seal may be trusted. 6.77 grams, 18.52mm (3/4"). Very fine condition.
