Norman Warrior with Shield Mount
11th-12th century AD
A bronze scabbard or sheath mount depicting a helmetted horseman with teardrop shield on a caparisoned horse, with an axe over his shoulder; one of two ribbed arms to the rear of the rider. 6.14 grams, 36.67mm (1 1/2"). Fine condition.

Property of a Hampshire gentleman; acquired before 1990.
