In April 1973, the expressionist painter Oskar Kokoschka visited Jerusalem. During his visit, he drew the portraits of six of the city's prominent: Prime Minister Golda Meir; Supreme Court President Shimon Agranat; Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan; Jerusalem's mayor, Teddy Kollek; The Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, Benedictus I; and Head of Waqf of the Dome of the Rock Sheikh Mustafa Khalil al-Ansari.
