Autograph Letter from Rabbi Aharon Levin, Av Beis Din of Risha
Handwritten letter from Rabbi Aharon Levin addressed to the leaders of the United States Agudas HaRabbanim, regarding the whereabouts of an absconded woman.
Rabbi Aharon Levin (1879 - 1940) was the son of Rabbi Nathan Levin, Av Beis Din of Risha, son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkes, author of Beis Yitzchak. Rabbi Aharon was one of the rabbinical leaders of Poland prior to the World War and was a remarkable Torah scholar. He was ordained by his grandfather, Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkes, on the eve of his wedding. He was a member of the Polish Sejm in Warsaw and a leader of Agudas Yisrael. He was appointed Rabbi of Sambir and later succeeded his father's position in Risha. He authored Responsa Avnei Chefetz and others.
