Handwritten and Signed Letter from the Minchas Elazar, Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapira; 1924
Handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapira of Munkacz addressed to Rabbi Yitzchak Frankel, President of the Munkacz Kollel in Jerusalem, regarding the delivery of money to the Kollel participants in Jerusalem.
In his letter the Admor writes that until the disagreements between the Kollel's leadership were sorted out, he would not be able to send the checks for the Kollel members.
Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapira of Munkacz (1872 - 1937) was the son of the Darchei Teshuva and a leading Hungarian Admor prior to World War II. He fought zealously against the assimilation . He was appointed Rosh Av Beis Din of Munkacz during his father's lifetime and became Rabbi and Admor in 1918. His work was published in various sefarim such as Responsa Minchas Elazar – five parts, Darchei Teshuva on hilchos niddah, and others.
Postmarked Munkacz, 1924.
