Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832-1913), an outstanding genius. Son of the Netziv of Volzhin, Av Beit Din of Volozhin, rabbi of Moscow and Jerusalem In 1892 he was accepted as Av Beit Din of Kovrin, where he was also admired by Hasidic circles After four years in Kobrin, D. Elisabethgrad. Rabbi Chaim worked to strengthen religion and spirituality in a city considered a spiritual wilderness. In 1906 he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and settled in Jerusalem, and his home in Jerusalem became a meeting place for scholars, great Torah scholars and yeshiva students who came to hear Torah and wisdom from him.
