Chilling Document! "Ketav Heter" for a Holocaust Survivor, by the Geniuses of Hungary, Holocaust Survivors Themselves, after His Wife and Three Children Perished in the Holocaust – 1947
The woman was from the Makó community. "She was sent with her three young children in a transport of the members of the Makó community … and arrived in Auschwitz … when they arrived she saw that the aforementioned woman with her young children was sent to the left to where they went …"
Signed by three of the geniuses of the Makó community, Holocaust survivors: Rabbi Moshe Nathan Neta Lemberger Av Beit Din of Makó, Rabbi Yehoshua Katz Domatz of Makó [ presumably, the writer of the document], Rabbi Yehoshua Frankel [the cantor of the community].
Rabbi Moshe Nathan Neta Lemberger was the disciple of Rabbi Shimon Greenfeld Av Beit Din of Semihaly, author of the Maharshag Responsa. After World War II, he returned to Makó and rehabilitated the town and its yeshiva. Immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1942, where he died in 1983.
