Rare and Lengthy Halachic Letter [6 Pages] Handwritten and Signed by Leader of the Generation the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman. Signed Autograph

Lengthy halachic letter dealing with jealously for something that does not exist, and subsidiary topics, from the leader of the generation, the gaon Rabbi Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman, to the gaon Rabbi Dov Landau, may he be distinguished for long life. Letters from the gaon Rabbi Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman are rare, and letters of this length of the one before us are uncommon.

In this lengthy and rare letter that covers six densely written notebook pages, with the addition of corrections and glosses between the lines, the gaon Rabbi Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman expands on the topic of jealously for something that does not exist, and covers all the approaches of Earlier and Later adjudicators who deal with this.

Rabbi Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman [1915-2018] was one of the leaders of Chareidi Jewry and president of Degel HaTorah's Council of Torah Sages. He was the rosh yeshivah of Ponovezh L'Tze'irim and rosh kollel of Ponovezh. After Rabbi Shach's passing in 2002, he was recognized as heir and successor to the leadership of the Lithuanian ["yeshivish"] public alongside Posek HaDor Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv of Jerusalem. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars that passed through his hands in his capacity - towards the end of his life - as patron of many Torah institutions, he himself lived in extreme simplicity and asceticism, in a small unpainted apartment, furnished with a Jewish Agency bed and unupholstered wooden chairs. On the eve of Chanukah 2017, at the age of 104, he passed on to the next world and hundreds of thousands attended his funeral.

Rabbi Dov Landau [b. 1930] is a scion of the Admo"rs of Stripkov. He is the rosh yeshivah of Slabodka, and one of the leaders of the Lithuanian ["yeshivish"] public.

6 lines pages. 21x15 cm. Fine condition. Fold marks. Aging stains. Professional restoration without damage to text.
