A CAUCASIAN SHASHKA BY GUZUNOV FOR BRAVERY, 19 C.
An officer's shashka FOR BRAVERY by Guzunov, XIX c. Single-edged curved blade featuring etched monogram of Nicholas II. The maker's mark of Guzunov is stamped onto the blade and etched beneath Russian double headed imperial eagle. Wooden scabbard covered with original black leather with silver engraved and nielloed fittings. The pommel is surmounted with silver ribbon with Cyrillic inscription: FOR BRAVERY. Rare, complete and original piece.
Dimensions: L: 38 1/2 in., (98 cm.)
Condition: Very good with excellent blade, leather is slightly worn.
